American TV host and businesswoman Padma Lakshmi, in a recent interview with Vogue India for their September cover story, opened up about her family, specifically her relationship with her 15-year-old daughter, Krishna. Laksmi, who is widely known for hosting the cooking reality competition TV show Top Chef, got candid with Vogue India about whether she and her daughter judge each other's outfit choices.

The 55-year-old Padma Lakshmi, who was married to renowned Indian-British novelist Salman Rushdie from 2004 to 2007, is also a model, author, and activist. However, when it comes to her daughter, Krishna, who joined Padma for the Vogue India interview and also played a little game called "Tell the Truth," the netizens are confused about who her father is. According to Style, Padma Lakshmi's daughter, Krishna's father, is Adam Dell. Lakshmi dated him briefly in 2009, according to Page Six, as cited by Style.

As per Style, Krishna's father, Adam Dell, began his career as a corporate lawyer, gradually turning into a venture capitalist. The 55-year-old Adam also happens to be the brother of billionaire Michael Dell, founder of Dell Technologies. According to Celebrity Net Worth, Adam Dell, whose net worth is $200 million, as a venture capitalist, has invested in several businesses and also founded the company, Impact Venture Partners, in 2000. Not to mention, he also became a partner at Goldman Sachs in 2018.

While Padma Lakshmi had a complicated relationship with Dell and initially did not want to reveal who Krishna's father was, following the settlement of their custody battle in 2012, they began co-parenting their daughter. After dating Dell in 2009, Lakshmi also had a relationship with billionaire philanthropist Teddy Forstmann. As Padma Lakshmi and Adam Dell are co-parenting Krishna, both of them are on good terms now.

During their interview with Vogue India for their September cover story, Lakshmi and her daughter, Krishna, not only shared a candid conversation but also, as mentioned earlier, took part in a game called "Tell the Truth." The mother-daughter duo revealed whether they judge one another for their outfits. Krishna said:

"We go by the five-second rule. If the other person can't change [their outfit] in five seconds and [the comment] is negative, don't say it. But before we leave the house, we're pretty brutal with each other. I will be like, 'You can't wear that in public with me.'"

While Lakshmi revealed that Krishna is:

"Always telling me to dress more provocatively."

While they have their differences, Krishna revealed that she often goes through her mother's closet. To which Padma said:

"She doesn't tell me, which drives me crazy."

In 2024, Padma Lakshmi made her Pirelli Calendar debut for the 2025 edition. She shared with People how thrilled she was to show the pictures to her daughter, but only for a particular reason. Padma said:

"I want her to see womanhood in all its stages, so I'm very free with my body at home. I'm also very honest and blunt with her, but I always have been in an age-appropriate way."

While talking about her perspective on aging and how she was "fully in command" of her body during the photo shoot, Lakshmi further added:

"I'm here to tell younger women that you shouldn't be afraid of aging. You shouldn't be afraid that time is running out. You should know that it just gets better and better and better because you learn from life. You become experienced."
