More about Parker McCollum's early life, career and marriage, as he reportedly fires his road manager

Parker McCollum was born on June 15, 1992, to parents who split up when he was just eight years old. According to CMT Edge, the To Be Loved By You singer grew up in the small town of Conroe, Texas, and from a very young age was influenced by country musicians like Buck Owens, Willie Nelson, and others. Parker McCollum grew up working on the ranches owned by his grandfather, and at the same time learned to play various instruments while still in high school.

According to Southern Living, Parker McCollum, who appeared on the Biscuits & Jam podcast hosted by Sid Evans in July 2022, spoke about the importance of his family in his life and how they inspire him. He said:

"I think Mom always loved taking care of everybody, and cooking for everybody, and having them over. My dad is such an influence on me. I look up to him so much, my best friend in the world. And when you're a kid, you don't think about those influences like that, and you get a little older and you grow up a little bit, and you start to realize ... the reason that I'm able to do anything or have any sort of knowledge or hustle or work ethic is because of those people in my life."

Parker McCollum later moved to Austin, Texas, and achieved success after the release of his debut album The Limestone Kid in February 2015. Following this, McCollum released his second album Probably Wrong in 2017, bringing him further success. According to Taste of Country, it was following the release of his third album Gold Chain Cowboy in July 2021 that he was won his major award in March 2022 at the Academy of Country Music Awards, where he received the award for Male New Artist. In 2023, Parker released his fourth album titled Never Enough, which was preceded by the lead single Handle On You, released in August, 2022.

According to People Magazine, the What Kinda Man singer met his future girlfriend Hallie Ray Light through a common friend. The couple later started dating, nine months after they had initially met. Parker McCollum has written several songs in Hallie's honor, most notably of them being an eponymous song titled Hallie Ray Light, released in 2020. The couple dated for a few years before announcing their engagement in 2021, and tying the knot one year later. They later welcomed their first child, a son, Major Yancy Tyler McCollum, in August 2024.

Parker McCollum, who most recently released his self-titled album earlier this year on June 27, was announced as one of the performers set to take the stage at the Blossom Music Center in Ohio in June next year.
