Robin Wright, who is currently in a relationship with British-Australian architect Henry Smith, recently opened up about her decision to move to the UK.

According to The Daily Mail, the couple met a year ago in 2024 and have since then moved in together with their two dogs. In an interview with UK publication The Sunday Times, published on August 30, The House of Cards actress opened up about her relationship with Smith and how they met. She told the outlet:

"Henry was standing at the bar, 6ft2in, and he put his pint down, came over to me and grabbed my shoulders."

Robin Wright was previously married to actor Dane Witherspoon, to whom she was married from 1986 until their divorce in 1988. The former couple met while auditioning for the show "Santa Barbara."

After their divorce, Wright was linked to actor Sean Penn, whom she married in 1996 and got divorced in 2010. The former couple welcomed two children during the course of their 14-year marriage.

More about Robin Wright's decision to move to the UK, as she opens up about relationship with Henry Smith

Robin Wright, who shifted to the UK a few years back, shed more light on her decision to move across the Atlantic. She said:

"America is a s*it show. I love being in this country. There's a freedom of self here. People are so kind. They're living. They're not in the car in traffic, panicked on a phone call, eating a sandwich. That's most of America. Everything's rush, competition and speed."

Wright, whose new Amazon series "The Girlfriend" premieres later this week on September 10, added one thing that she does not like about the UK is the fact that social classes are still prevalent. She said:

"It’s very evident when you’re in a room and you feel the judgment or the praise of someone who’s more elevated. I’m trying to figure it out. Why are you guys so obsessed with who went to this boarding school or this university? Who gives a s*it?”

Robin Wright later moved in with Henry Smith, calling the decision to live by the English seaside "liberating." She said:

"It's liberating to be done. Be done with searching, looking and getting 60 percent of what you wanted. That's exactly what I wanted. I'm turning 60 and I'm, like, 'Is this it?' I love being alone and I've done that many times. But I'm, like, I want to grow old with somebody, and travel and see the world."

She added:

"Everyone's building a huge house and I'm just done with all that - I love the quiet. And I've met my person. Finally."

In the same interview, Robin Wright also revealed that she and Smith bonded over their shared COVID-related sickness during their early dating period.
