Sandy Linter, a renowned makeup artist who once worked with the late Natasha Richardson, revealed a deeply personal note from Liam Neeson on Instagram. Sandy Linter is known for her long-standing career at Vogue and her work with countless supermodels and celebrities.

Linter, who was responsible for Richardson’s funeral makeup in 2009, chose to share the heartfelt message years after the actress’s death. The post came at a time when Liam Neeson, Richardson’s widower, has been in the public eye due to his new relationship with Pamela Anderson.

Sandy Linter recalls touching note from Liam Neeson after Natasha Richardson’s death:

For Sandy Linter, the memory of Natasha Richardson and the days following her tragic passing have never faded. In a recent Instagram caption, the renowned makeup artist revisited a moment of quiet connection with Liam Neeson.

“A little note about I worked with Natasha Richardson several times. I got the news that she’d struck her head and died from the injury she sustained while skiing, I was asked to make her up while she was ‘lying in state’. An Irish custom. She looked like a queen.” Linter began.

Sandy Linter, who had worked with Richardson , described what happened two months later.

“I got a call from Liam Neeson. I went to his apartment — he asked me if I were doing well. I said yes. And then he said ‘I know what I’ll do’ and he came back and handed me this note.”

The deeply personal story came just as Neeson made headlines for his rumored relationship with Pamela Anderson. Still, Linter’s message wasn’t about gossip, but about warmth.

“He’s such a good guy. Like everyone else I’m so happy for him. Can’t wait to see the movie, #nakedgun two thumbs up just saw it. If you are into on screen chemistry it’s all there!”

In a candid interview with The Italian Reve, Sandy Linter reflected on the beauty industry’s transformation over the decades. For someone who once knew nearly everyone behind the camera, the shift felt personal.

“So many changes! I can only talk about that for me personally. In the beginning, the industry was so small. The makeup artists, the hairdressers, the photographers and the models, I knew every single one in the world. You open up an issue of Vogue and look through it these days and I don’t know anybody. I know that Rihanna is on the cover but inside I don’t know the photographer, I don’t know the stylist, I don’t know anyone,” she shared.

Still, Linter found her place in the evolving space, carving out a role that brought experience and age into the spotlight.

“So, it’s a huge, huge, huge industry and it’s fabulous. I carved out a little tiny niche for myself by making up women over fifty, for which I did ‘The Makeup Wakeup’ book. And my first book, of course, it’s called ‘Disco Beauty: Night-time Makeup’ for all the young, fun people,” she added.

Initially unsure whether targeting women over fifty would resonate, Linter credited her collaborator, Lois Joy Johnson, for pushing her to go beyond the conventional beauty demographics.

“Even I kept saying to the woman I did work with, Lois Joy Johnson, ‘isn’t fifty too old? Shouldn’t we say only over forty?’ And she said, ‘oh no, no, it’s fine.’ So, I do have to give her credit for that.”
