The Pineapple Express star, Seth Rogen, has recently, along with his wife, Lauren Miller Rogen, opened up about his wife's family's struggles with Alzheimer's disease. Seth, widely known for his collaboration with actor James Franco in several stoner comedies, recently appeared on BBC Breakfast with Lauren, where they discussed their new documentary Taking Care, which sheds light on Alzheimer's disease. The documentary also focuses on Lauren Miller Rogen's mother, Adele, who was diagnosed with the devastating disease at 55 and, after battling for a decade, she died in 2020 at the age of 68.
While actor/director Seth Rogen is considered a Hollywood A-lister, people don't know much about his highly talented wife, Lauren Miller Rogen, who is also an actress, screenwriter, and filmmaker. Seth and Lauren first came across one another in 2004, and ever since then, they have been going strong as a couple. After dating for several years, the couple tied the knot in October 2011. After being in a relationship for over two decades, the couple has gone through some difficult times, but they have always supported each other.
When Lauren Miller Rogen's mother, Adele, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, it was Seth who encouraged and motivated her to go for therapy. Lauren, who has been in movies such as Phobias, Like Father, and 50/50, is also one of the producers of the documentary Taking Care, directed by James Keach.
Lauren Miller Rogen talks about her late mother, Adele, and discusses her struggle with Alzheimer's

Lauren Miller Rogen, besides producing the documentary Taking Care with his husband Seth, also runs a non-profit organization, Hilarity for Charity, that helps families across America who are impacted by Alzheimer's disease. During their BBC interview, Lauren talked about her late mother Adele, who was a teacher, and discussed her struggle with Alzheimer's. Lauren said:
"My mum, Adele, was you know, an amazing mom and she was giving and caring. She was a teacher for 35 years. She was funny and warm, and someone who loved to entertain. She was very in control of things."
While mentioning that it was not only her mother who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, but her mother's parents were also victims of the same disease, Lauren said:
"And then, when she was 52, she repeated a story a few times and I... my heart kind of sank because I had seen both of her parents have Alzheimer's and dementia and so I feared what was to come and was unfortunately correct in that fear. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's just before her 55th birthday."
On the other hand, it was all new for Seth Rogen, who stood with Lauren and supported her in every way possible when Adele was diagnosed with the disease. Seth, during the BBC interview, said:
" I mean, for me, I just had no idea what Alzheimer's was actually like, it's not in my family, I think I'd only seen it represented in movies and TV shows and things like that. I think most representations of it in the media are pretty... you know, sunny and light on the grand scale of what the disease actually does to people. Seeing first hand how ravaging it was, was really shocking in a lot of ways."
Taking Care is available on OTT platforms like Apple TV+, Amazon Prime, and FUSE+.
