Actress Shannon Tweed, who is married to Gene Simmons, gave fans an update on her husband's health after he was involved in a car accident. According to NBC 4, Tweed, who has been married to the rock icon since 2011, explained to the outlet that Simmons had recently been prescribed new medication, requiring him to drink more water, something he avoids drinking. This might have possibly been the alleged reason for Gene Simmons loosing conciousness while driving his car.
According to People Magazine, Gene Simmons was traveling along the Pacific Coast Highway, also known as the California State Route 1, on Tuesday, October 7, when he lost his consciousness and passed out, while driving his SUV. His car crashed into a parked car, after which emergency sevices arrived at the scene. He was later taken to a hospital in Malibu and has since been discharged. In her statement to NBC 4, Shannon Tweed described the accident saying, "[His] SUV careened across several lanes of traffic in the crash."

Shannon Tweed, whose full name is Shannon Lee Tweed was born in St John's, Newfoundland, Canada on March 10, 1957. She and her seven siblings were raised in Withbourne by their parents, Donald Keith Tweed and Louise Wall Tweed.
Not much is known about her early life, but according to People Magazine, her father was a Mink rancher who later suffered an accident and fell into a coma. Following this, the entire family moved to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Her father eventually recovered, but her parents later divorced.
While still a teenager, Shannon Tweed began participating in several local beauty pageants, during which she secured the third place in the Miss Ottawa Pageant in 1978. Later, in the 1980s, she went on to appear on the cover of Playboy Magazine, where she was named the Playmate of the Year in 1982.
Shannon Tweeds was later cast in the recurring role of Diana Hunter in the 1980s TV show "Falcon Crest." In an interview with People Magazine, the "Naked Truth" actress revealed that she never actually planned to pursue a career in acting but did so when the opportunity presented itself. She said:
"I never really decided to be an actress, but I got an agent, was called back on every show I auditioned for, and finally decided I was meant to be an actress."

During her time at the Playboy Magazine, she was reported to have been in a relationship with Hugh Hefner. She later began dating Gene Simmons, and the couple had been together for twenty eight years before tying the knot in 2011. Talking about marrying his longtime partner later in life, Gene Simmons revealed the reason for doing so in a 2018 interview with The Sydney Morning Herald, and said:
"I didn’t marry until I was 62. I was a jack*ss and a self-centred guy until my saviour Shannon set me straight."
The couple share two children. They welcomed their first child Nicholas Simmons-Tweed, in January 1989, followed by their daughter, Sophie Simmons-Tweed in July, 1992.
According to some reports, Gene Simmons is currently resting, while other reports suggest that he is aldready back to work.
