After the rideshare dispute, the NBA/WNBA broadcaster reportedly faced online attacks, according to Fox 5 Atlanta. On Wednesday, June 25, 2025, Tabitha Turner-Wilkins addressed the allegations from the Uber driver during a press conference with her lawyer, Miguel A. Dominguez.

The attorney, sitting beside his client, addressed the media and showed a video recording of the alleged incident. Dominguez stated that Turner-Wilkins was traveling for work on Saturday, June 21, the day the altercation reportedly happened.

He reiterated that Tabitha had booked a “comfort Uber.” However, Dominguez also claimed that his client seemingly didn’t receive the service she ordered on the app. He added that the windows were rolled down when Tabitha Turner-Wilkins sat in the car. Dominguez claimed that Tabitha asked the defendant (the driver) to turn the AC on and close the windows.

The attorney emphasized that his client’s requests were the “whole thing that jumped this incident off.” Miguel Dominguez claimed that the driver “did put the air conditioner on, but she didn’t roll the windows up.” Up until this point, the defendant had also recounted similar details in her TikTok video.

However, the lawyer stated that the driver’s following responses were allegedly rude. He also claimed that the defendant asked the passenger to get out of the car after pulling over in the middle of the expressway in the emergency lane. Dominguez claimed that Tabitha Turner-Wilkins refused to step out until police showed up while also demanding a refund.

The attorney alleged that the Uber driver decided to escalate the situation and added (via Fox 5 Atlanta),

“She got out of the vehicle. She came around to my client’s door. Opened the door after having pulled out my client’s bags and set them out. She opened the door and attempted to physically remove my client from the vehicle.”

Dominguez claimed that his client decided to wait for the police to arrive and started recording while the driver returned to her seat. He alleged that the defendant sprayed mace on her client while she was talking and not being violent. Dominguez further accused the Uber driver of physically assaulting his client and injuring her eye during the altercation. He added that the accused pulled Tabitha Turner-Wilkins’ hair out.

The driver, in her TikTok video, had claimed that she maced the NBA reporter because she was allegedly trying to draw a weapon while filming. However, Dominguez refuted the TikToker’s claims, accusing her of adding new details after a couple of days. He claimed (via Fox 5 Atlanta),

"There's no allegations at the time of this police report on scene, and at the time of her TikTok video that my client assaulted her in any way in the vehicle. Public can see that for themselves. Just look at her video."

Dominguez further alleged,

"There was no weapon and she was just trying to leave it vague purposefully. [...] She never mentions my client having a weapon [in the police report]. Two days later she calls the officer and says, 'Hey, by the way, I'd like to add to my story. I'd like for you to put it in your report. I'm telling you that Ms. Turner had a weapon, she had a sharp weapon.'"

As mentioned, the Hapeville Police Department has determined the driver to be the aggressor in its report, Fox 5 Atlanta confirmed.

During the press conference, Turner-Wilkins also spoke about the online harassment she has faced since the TikTok video of the defendant went viral. The reporter got emotional while speaking and shared safety concerns for her daughter after allegedly getting name-called and receiving threats on social media.
