Taylor Swift's longtime bestie Abigail Anderson is thrilled to learn of the pop star's engagement to Travis Kelce. The 35-year-old took to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, August 26, to repost Swift's engagement photos.

The caption read:

“This [red heart emoji]."

Us Weekly has reported that the two have been friends since they were teenagers, with Anderson even being namedropped in the singer's 2008 song, Fifteen. The lyrics were:

“You sit in class next to a redhead named Abigail. And soon enough, you’re best friends.”

As per E! News, over the course of their friendship, Anderson got engaged, married, and welcomed her first child. Her LinkedIn states that she serves as the chief of staff of corporate development at Celero Commerce, a business management software company located not far from Nashville.

Abigail Anderson graduated from the University of Kansas and previously served as the vice-president of communications at veterans organisation Patriot Angels. According to People Magazine, she also swam competitively at school and college.

Page Six has reported that Taylor Swift was one of the bridesmaids when Anderson tied the knot with her first husband, Matt Lucier, in September 2017. She has since parted ways with him and is currently married to Charles Berard.

Taylor Swift took to Instagram just this week to announce that wedding bells are in the future for her and Travis Kelce. Paired with a string of photos of the Kansas City Chiefs tight end down on his knees asking her the big question, she wrote:

“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married."

Us Weekly reported that Swift's blingy diamond ring was designed by Kindred Lubeck at Artifex Fine Jewelry. It showcases an old mine brilliant cut diamond set on a gold band. It also features smaller stones and a thin bezel. For the occasion, the sportsman opted for some white khakis and a navy collared shirt, while his beau donned a white dress with navy stripes from Ralph Lauren.

The pair have been dating for almost two years, as they struck up their romance in 2023. Others who celebrated the couple include Travis’s NFL teammate Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany, as per E! News. The former took to his Instagram Stories to mark the occasion with a string of heart emojis, while his wife penned:

“Two of the most genuine people meet and fall in love. Just so happy for these two."
