Who is Tim Malone? All about Don Lemon’s husband as he opens up about his role during CNN Tenure

Don Lemon, who is married to real estate broker Tim Malone, recently opened up about the vital role his husband has played in every step of his career. In an exclusive interview with US Weekly, the former CNN news anchor called his husband his greatest support system, and said:

"[He is] my backbone. It’s the person I see every single day. And when I can’t stand, he helps me stand."

Don Lemon and Tim Malone got married on April 6, 2024, after being together for eight years. According to US Weekly, the couple, who have an eighteen-year age difference, later got engaged in 2019 after Malone proposed to him with the help of their dogs.

Don Lemon, who attended the Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards on June 20, was honored with the Social Impact Award for his "social advocacy and community empowerment." During an exclusive interview with US Weekly, he gushed about his husband, Tom Malone. He said:

"His support means everything. And so, you know, just like any other relationship — straight, gay or whatever — that’s my right hand. To have him there and have him in my corner — that’s my ride or die.”

Don Lemon's husband, Tim Malone, previously worked as a real estate agent for Douglas Elliman and specialized in showcasing luxury properties in and around New York. According to People Magazine, Tim Malone attended Southampton High School and later went to Boston College in Massachusetts, where he graduated in 2006 with a degree in history and journalism.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Tim Malone worked at NCB Universal for seven years, where he first worked as a production assistant on the Today Show and later took on other roles before joining Billboard as the director of Brand Partnerships. He later started working as a real estate agent for The Corcoran Group from 2018 to 2020. Tim Malone currently works as a real estate agent at Compass.

In a 2021 interview with Gay City News, Don Lemon revealed that there were several initial challenges to his relationship with Tim Malone, but they managed to work through them. He said

"We have different backgrounds, different racial backgrounds … There were a lot of questions when we started dating of what was going to be the issue, and honestly, the fact that we were gay was, like, last on the list … It was more about 'he is in the public eye' than anything, which took some getting used to."

Don Lemon and Tim Malone, who often post pictures together on Instagram with their beloved dogs, were spotted walking down the red carpet event for the 2023 TIME Gala. The couple had previously also expressed interest in starting their own family.
