The late American musician and frontman of Soundgarden, Chris Cornell's daughter, Toni Cornell, and wife, Vicky Cornell, along with other family members, attended the 2025 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Co-founded by Chris Cornell in 1984, Soundgarden, a Seattle-based grunge band, was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on November 8, 2025, as per Page Six.
According to Entertainment Now, Cornell, the lead singer and rhythm guitarist, who was also a member of bands like Audioslave, Mad Season, and Temple of the Dog, committed suicide at the age of 52 in May 2017. His dead body was found in a hotel room at the MGM Grand in Detroit. While Cornell's band Soundgarden was recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the fans and netizens became interested to learn about his wife, Vicky Cornell.
According to Entertainment Now, Vicky Cornell, who was married to Chris Cornell for 13 years, tied the knot with the rock legend in 2004 and shared a daughter, Toni, and a son, Christopher. Interestingly, Chris and Vicky Cornell got engaged in Paris in 2003, while he was on a tour in France with Audioslave. The two eventually got married in the French capital the next year.
However, Vicky Cornell is a former publicist who is originally from a Greek family that owns a chain of restaurants. Vicky is also into charity work, as she and Chris formed the Chris and Vicky Cornell Foundation in 2012, which took care of and protected vulnerable children who were abused and were facing poverty.
While Vicky Cornell cheered the legendary band as it got inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on November 8, Chris Cornell's daughter, Toni, honored him and paid tribute by singing a rendition of Fell on Black Days by Soundgarden. Toni not only surprised music enthusiasts with her singing talent but also made them emotional.
Jim Carrey inducts Chris Cornell's Soundgarden to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

It was the two-time Golden Globe-winning actor, Jim Carrey, who inducted Soundgarden into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on November 8, 2025.
According to Alternative Nation, he spoke of what he thought of the band and how their music left an impact on him. The Ace Ventura actor said:
"The Seattle music scene resurrected rock ’n’ roll for me. When I heard Soundgarden for the first time, I wasn’t just excited — I wanted to put on a flannel shirt and run into the street screaming."
He continued:
"They took hard rock, punk, metal, psychedelia — and turned it into something that felt dangerous and spiritual at the same time. One of the most majestic, powerful and influential bands ever to walk the Earth."
The Truman Show actor, Carrey, recalled the time when Soundgarden performed on SNL (Saturday Night Live) in 1996, saying:
"I stood right in front of them, letting the waves of electricity wash over me like an audio baptism. They pushed me under, and when I came up — I was free."
He added:
"After the show, they handed me the Fender Telecaster that Chris played — signed by the whole band. It’s one of my most treasured possessions."
While talking about the late Chris Cornell, Jim said:
"His presence was deeply authentic. When you looked into his eyes, it was like eternity was staring back. That voice could make a mountain tremble or heal a broken heart — sometimes in the same line."
Carrey further added:
"Chris Cornell didn’t just sing songs — he became them. And in doing so, he freed all of us who were listening."
While honoring Ben Shepherd, Kim Thayil, and Matt Cameron, who are other members of Soundgarden, Jim ended his speech by saying:
"Long live Chris Cornell, and long live Soundgarden."
