Yaya Mayweather, the daughter of boxing legend Floyd Mayweather, is in the news once again, this time for revealing what looks like a tattoo of rapper NBA YoungBoy’s face on her arm.

The Instagram post, dated May 22, 2025, caused quite a stir on social media, and also brought spotlight to the deep history between Yaya and the rapper, who is now married to someone else.

This isn’t the first time that Yaya Mayweather has made headlines for her association with Young Boy. The pair were previously involved in a romantic relationship, which has seen its fair share of controversies.

But one of the most pivotal incidents occurred in April 2020, when Yaya was arrested for stabbing LaPattra Jacobs, the mother of one of Young Boy’s children, reportedly during a confrontation at his home.

According to Capital Xtra, the altercation reportedly took place outside YoungBoy’s house, and it was caused by jealousy and relationship issues. Jacobs received wounds on her arm and needed surgery. Yaya was accused of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and originally faced up to 20 years in prison.

Yaya, in April 2022, pleaded guilty to the charge and said in court that she had unlawfully, intentionally, and unknowingly caused bodily harm with a knife (People Magazine).

Yaya eventually avoided prison and was sentenced to six years of deferred adjudication probation, a deal that, if completed, would give her the chance not to end up with a felony conviction. Her lawyer, Kent Schaffer, would subsequently say that the legal settlement was in Yaya Mayweather’s best interest, given that all of the witnesses, even YoungBoy himself, had been uncooperative.

"Although we believe that Iyanna was defending herself after being attacked, we thought this was the safest resolution for her," Her attorney, Kent Schaffer, told People Magazine.

Yaya Mayweather was not absent from the spotlight during her legal trial. In January 2021, she had her son, Kentrell Jr., with YoungBoy, strengthening their relationship even more.

Through the years, she has posted more glimpses of her life and her son on social media, accumulating more than 1.4 million followers on Instagram under the username @moneyyaya.

NBA YoungBoy married Jazlyn Mychelle in January 2023. The couple has two children and frequently collaborate on their music videos and works.
