Will Smith and Jada Smith's relationship with longtime partner Bilaal Salaam has turned sour, as Brother Bilaal filed a $3 million complaint against the actress for threatening him back in 2021. According to the complaint, after Salaam publicly discussed their private lives, Pinkett Smith threatened him, tried to get him to sign an NDA, and planned a retaliatory smear campaign.

Sources close to the Smiths have claimed that these allegations are all false, and the lawsuit is driven more by financial gain. The pair claims it is nothing more than an "extortion attempt."

Bilaal Salaam claims in the court documents that during a private party for Will Smith on September 25, 2021, Jada Smith had approached him at the Regency Calabasas Commons and threatened Bilaal, saying he would “end up missing or catch a bullet” if he did not stop sharing Jada's "personal business."

He went on to mention that the Set it Off Star had "demanded" him to sign a nondisclosure agreement "or else."

He also stated in the documents that she continued to threaten him while trailing him to his car with "approximately seven members of her entourage."

Brother Bilaal is seeking $3 million for emotional pain, reputational damage, and the purported disruption of his personal and professional lives.

No turning back for Bilaal and the Smiths

Months later, their severed relationship had no means of being repaired again when Bilaal Salaam turned down a request from a mutual friend to assist with the "crisis management" following Will Smith's controversial incident at the Academy Awards, in which he slapped and threatened comedian Chris Rock for making jokes about Jada Smith

His fillings stated:

"Plaintiff refused to perform tasks he believed were illegal, unethical, or morally compromising, stating his conscience would not allow him to be involved in any cover-up or deceptive PR campaign."

According to Salaam, he was the focus of a "retaliatory campaign" that was "launched against him" and soon started receiving threats from Smith and Pinkett Smith's entourage after he refused.

He also claims that after it was revealed that he was writing a "whistleblower memoir" about his time with the Smiths, he received additional threats. After an interview with Tasha in 2023 on the Unwine With Tasha K, which "went viral," he says, the defamation attempts intensified.

In the interview, he witnessed Fresh Prince of Bel Air co-star “Duane having anal s*x with Will” on a couch after he “opened the door to Duane’s dressing room.” Bilaal did not stop there and went on to describe the Fresh Prince's manhood to a "pinky toe."

Will Smith and Jada Smith's response

People was informed by people close to the Smiths that they are "really mad" about the lawsuit and saw it as an obvious attempt to take advantage on their celebrity status.

A source who described Salaam as “an opportunistic person out to exploit them” stated:

“They are really mad and say it’s a lot of crap.”

Will and Jada Smith saw the case "as a money ploy to get what they can out of them," the source continued.

Meanwhile, another insider stated that he “has been close to Will for many years but sometime along the way became a blabbermouth, which has upset both Will and Jada.” The insider added that the Smiths “don’t want to hear about their lives in the public arena. Especially in a controversial way.”

Regarding the interview in 2023 on Unwine With Tasha K, Will Smith, in a response to Page Six, stated that it was “completely fabricated” and “unequivocally false.” According to a source, Will Smith was “considering taking legal action” back then.

Jada Smith had something to say as well regarding the viral interview on The Breakfast Club. She said:

“Let me just say this. It’s ridiculous, right? And it’s nonsense.

As of now, neither Will Smith, Jada Smith, nor Bilaal Salaam has commented on this matter.
