Why did Christine Brown and Kody Brown separate? TV-personality explains how she decided to get married again

Sister Wives star Christine Brown is opening up about her separation from ex-Kody Brown. Brown detailed intimacy issues as a key reason behind her split from Kody.

During a June 8 episode of Sister Wives: One on One, the reality TV star reflected on her relationship with ex-Kody Brown, saying,

"For a long time, it was just fun and it was just a blast. You know, we just had a lot of good times."

TLC reality TV show, Sister Wives, explores the life of Kody Brown and his polygamous relationship with his four wives, with whom he shares 18 children. The series also looks at the "Sister Wives" relationship with each other and the dynamic of sharing one husband. One of Kody Brown's four wives, Christine, split from the patriarch in 2021 and went on to explore a monogamous relationship with her now-husband, David Woolley.

In the recent episode, Christine looked back at her relationship with Kody and revealed that things in their marriage changed when he went on to marry his wife, Robyn, in 2014.

"When he married Robyn, there's where I was like, 'Oh, there's definitely something missing here.' But at that point...it was already so almost over anyway. But it wasn't a real true intimacy."

She added that she wasn't taken care of "emotionally, romantically, physically, or financially" during their marriage. She also mentioned that sex between them was "never good, it was just so broken."

Christine Brown opens up about exploring monogamy after splitting from Kody Brown

After splitting from Sister Wives patriarch, Kody Brown, in 2021, Christine Brown went on to date monogamously for the first time in her life, and decided to have sex out of wedlock. In the recent episode, Christine Brown mentioned intimacy issues as the main reason behind her split from Kody, and added that as she explored her dating life after the split, she wanted to explore intimacy first, before moving ahead in a relationship.

"Like full on, it was going to happen. We're going to make love first because I needed to make sure there was going to be physical attraction before I would settle into a relationship with somebody."

Christine Brown also opened up about her relationship with her now husband, David Woolley, and talked about the difference between her two marriages, noting that she feels more confident now, and she "can just be me." She also noted that what she has with David is "so special and something so beautiful" that they "naturally moved into everything."
