A children's holiday toy drive, which was being organised on behalf of The Matthew Foundation, was held at the Chaminade Resort and Spa, Santa Cruz, for children with Down Syndrome.

The 49ers player Deommodore Lenoir was set to attend the last week of the event; however, according to the spokesperson of the event, he did not show up. The spokesperson told TMZ,

"There was no misunderstanding,' a spokesperson told TMZ, 'He just chose not to come."

The situation in totality seems a little unclear, as according to Deommodore Lenoir's representative, he seemed excited about the opportunity, especially since the cause is close to his heart, as his sister also has Down Syndrome. However, when he reportedly found out that there would be adults at the event, he backed out two weeks ago.

But the event organisers claim that no such thing was communicated to them, as they even tried to desperately contact him. But the day was saved as his teammate, Niners safety Siran Neal, came to the event and made everyone's day.

For Neal, the spokesperson stated, "He was so personable. He could definitely be an ambassador for the city of San Francisco and the 49ers.'

Neal himself also shared,

"I feel like at a point in my life right now, in my career, that I can give back and show them that you can have a special day just like everybody else," adding, "Showing love to show them that I got their back no matter what. I can be there this holiday to put a smile on their face. That's all."

Neal seemed to be beaming in the pictures from the event, making it that much more special for the children.
