EastEnders actor arrested on set: Here’s what happened
It was reported that on May 7, 2025, an EastEnders actor was arrested on set after a female colleague reported an alleged indecent assault. According to the unnamed female victim, the extra, a 50-year-old man, tried to forcibly kiss her without her consent.
In addition to the assault against the female co-worker, the EastEnders actor is also held for alleged common assault, which supposedly resulted from the scuffle when the security tried to detain him. At the moment, the actor is held on police bail, and the case is being investigated.
An individual who was present on set at the time when the incident occurred told The Sun during an exclusive interview:
"In all the years of filming EastEnders, nothing this dramatic has happened, with police turning up at the studios. Everyone was quite shaken up by it all. No one could quite believe what was happening. The main focus was the woman's welfare as she was clearly very distressed."
The inside source continued to explain that filming had to be stopped since they needed to address the issue. They continued:
"Obviously, filming had to be stopped while the incident was dealt with by production managers and security. It got very heated when the man squared up to the security staff as they tried to calm things. Eventually, he was questioned and taken away by police."
The inside source provided The Sun with more details about the incident. They said:
"Filming was actually going on in the fictional Albert Square set at the time the woman made her complaint. She was working as an extra, as was the alleged assailant. She complained that he had tried to kiss her without her consent. Everyone involved in the production, including the cast and crew, acted very responsibly in an extremely difficult situation."
They mentioned one of the stars who was present on set:
"Adam Woodyatt was one of the star names who were involved in filming at the time."
They concluded by saying:
"They had to look after the woman while also reporting it to the police who turned up at the studios and arrested the man."
On July 12, 2025, EastEnders responded to the incident in a statement. They said:
"While we would never comment on individuals, EastEnders has on-site security and well-established procedures in place to safeguard the safety and welfare of everyone who works on the show."
