Mixed martial artist Greg Hardy seems to have found himself in dire straits. According to an exclusive report by TMZ from June 4, 2025, the former Dallas Cowboys pass rusher has been arrested by police on charges of domestic assault.
As per the outlet, he was booked into custody in Richardson at 2:29 p.m., with the jail record showing the charge as:
“Assault causes bodily injury family member.”
Greg Hardy was set to appear in court on June 5, 2025, where he would receive a bond.
Greg Hardy's history of legal troubles and domestic violence allegations
This wasn’t the first time Hardy found himself in this situation. In 2014, he was arrested for allegedly beating his then-partner, Nicole Holder. According to a report by Fox4, the MMA artist violently pushed Holder against a wall.
He reportedly pulled her by her hair. Nonetheless, the charges against Greg Hardy were dismissed after the victim failed to appear for a second trial.
In 2016, he was jailed on charges of drug possession. At that time, the owner and president of the Dallas Cowboys, Jerry Jones, shared a statement, which Fox4 quoted as:
“While we did not have access to the photos that became public today, we were and are aware of the serious nature of this incident. We as an organization take this very seriously. We do not condone domestic violence.”
The statement continued:
“We entered into the agreement with Greg fully understanding that there would be scrutiny and criticism. We have given Greg a second chance. He is a member of our team and someone who is grateful for the opportunity he has been given to move forward with his life and his career.”
Greg Hardy once called himself innocent
In 2020, Greg Hardy sat for an interview with UFC, posted by the YouTube channel TheMacLife. He was asked about a certain flight being canceled back then. He explained that people from his past had tried to take advantage of him, putting him in difficult situations and creating stress that affected not just him, but also his family.
He said he had been overwhelmed emotionally, breaking down in the bathroom and feeling unsure about how to move forward. Overall, he described the period as filled with external pressure and drama.
When asked if the people he mentioned had something to do with his past controversies, Greg Hardy replied:
“Yeah, a lot of past stuff, you know, I mean just coming back like I said trying to prey on me man, you know. You guys know me by now. I would have jumped off a building did some crazy T.O. stuff if I was that guy I was talking about. I'm not never will be I'm a good guy. I've been a good guy, innocent man always.”
When asked how it felt knowing that his past could be brought up again at any time, Greg Hardy said he had dealt with that kind of pressure from the very beginning.
He saw himself as someone who constantly succeeded despite being in tough and complicated situations. He believed he pushed through more than most people because he had responsibilities, including taking care of his family.
