As The Devil Wears Prada 2 starts filming, stars attached to the prequel have been confirming their involvement with the latest film. As Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci are all set to return, one star with a small role is still unsure of her appearance in the sequel.

Caitríona Balfe had a small role in The Devil Wears Prada, as she was one of the employees of Miranda Priestley's magazine. She appears in a scene as the entire office bustles around just as Miranda comes to the office. It's a blink-and-you-miss-it role, but a significant one for Balfe regardless.

Teasing fans about her return in The Devil Wears Prada 2, the model/ actress told ScreenRant in an interview:

"Why am I not in the sequel?! That whole high heel thing I was in. I did, I think, two days on that film. It helped me get my SAG card, that’s one thing I will say. But I think I sat in my trailer or the tiny, tiny banger trailer one of the days, and then the second day I was walking across the front of the building as Miranda goes in to work. So the very front of the building. I saw Meryl Streep, my heel walked in front of the camera, and I think I was officially down as a clacker. But that’s it."

The term clacker is a word used in the film to refer to people who work behind the scenes for the magazine, and are recognized by the clacking sound of their heels.

As for Balfe's return, there has not been any confirmation about her involvement in the project as her role in the first film was a small one, and the new film doesn't revolve around Runway magazine. Still, if there are any appearances from "clackers" in The Devil Wears Prada 2, one may see a familiar face or two.
