Sean "Diddy" Combs' mother is firing back.

Janice Combs issued a scathing statement via Deadline, where she is calling out Netflix's new docuseries, Sean Combs: The Reckoning, insisting that claims that her son once slapped her are "inaccurate and patently false."

"I am writing this statement to correct some of the lies presented in the Netflix, Sean Combs: The Reckoning, released on December 2, 2025. These inaccuracies regarding my son Sean's upbringing and family life is intentionally done to mislead viewers and further harm our reputation."

The new doc revisits Diddy's rise and fall, while people who used to be involved in his life drop bombshell revelations and experiences with the Bad Boy Records founder. One of them is Kirk Burrowes, Bad Boy co-founder and the music mogul's apparent childhood friend.

In an episode, Burrowes looked back on the fatal stampede in 1991 that took place at City College of New York, where nine students died after being crushed at the bottom of the staircase.

According to the former Bad Boys exec, Diddy insulted and physically harassed his mother following the incident.

"He didn't know what was going to happen. And I saw Janice question Sean. He's going into this music business thing. He just left school and now this extreme tragedy has occurred. She's like, 'Did he make the right decision?' I saw him put his hands on her. Call her a b***h and slapped her. He's not looking back."

"Outrageous": Diddy's mother, Janice Combs, blasts Kirk Burrowes' claim she was assaulted by her son

This, however, was outright refuted by Janice Combs in her official statement.

"The allegations stated by Mr. Kirk Burrowes that my son slapped me while we were conversing after the tragic City College events on December 28, 1991, are inaccurate and patently false."

She continued:

"That was a very sad day for all of us,' referencing the overcrowded school gym event promoted by Combs that ended with nine people killed and nearly 30 others injured. For him to use this tragedy and incorporate fake narratives to further his prior failed and current attempt to gain what was never his, Bad Boy Records is wrong, outrageous and past offensive."

Diddy's representative, Juda S. Engelmayer, also echoed the same sentiment of repudiation toward the Netflix docuseries, where 50 Cent is credited as the executive producer. Engelmayer said:

"At this stage, there is nothing further to add except this: many of the allegations and claims referenced in that documentary were never properly vetted, verified, or shown to be accurate. The truth will come out in the appropriate forum and at the appropriate time."

Sean "Diddy" Combs is currently serving his 50-month prison sentence for prostitution charges. He is expected to be released in June 2028.
