Jennifer Lawrence, during Wednesday's episode of the Las Culturistas podcast, revealed that she refused to have an intimacy coordinator for her upcoming film, Die My Love, as she felt comfortable with her co-star, Robert Pattinson.Lawrence, in the film, plays the role of a woman who becomes disturbed after the birth of her child."We did not have (an intimacy coordinator), or maybe we did we didn't really...I felt really safe with Rob. He is not pervy and very in love with Suki (Waterhouse). We mostly were just talking about our kids and relationships. There was never any weird like, 'Does he think I like him?'Intimacy coordinators were introduced as a result of the #MeToo movement to help make actors feel more comfortable shooting scenes involving sex and nudity. They act as a liaison between the actors and the production team to ensure safety, consent, and a non-coercive environment."If there was a little bit of that I would have an intimacy coordinator. A lot of male actors get offended if you don't want to f**k them, and then the punishment starts. He was not like that."When podcast hosts Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers reacted to the comment with shock, and Rogers quipped, "just a cute social punishment", Lawrence added, "I've just heard of this, I've never experienced it.""I was certainly mistreated," says Jennifer LawrenceJennifer Lawrence has been vocal about her experience with uncomfortable scenarios in her career. In 2018, she sat down for an interview with CNN's Christiane Amanpour and recalled occasions when she felt unable to protest when men in senior roles in the movie industry would touch her legs.Lawrence said that she had certainly experienced behavior with movie executives that "now we would call abusive." Lawrence, at the time, was promoting her espionage thriller Red Sparrow, which had a lot of nudity, and recalled,"I had....a lot of insecurities when it came to sexuality and nudity and my body and I've just been carrying them around for years."She mentioned that she was made to feel comfortable in the professional environment on the film's sets. Jennifer Lawrence also recalled that director Francis Lawrence had a conversation "about how to make her as comfortable as possible" and noted that "it was a real collaboration between the two of us."Francis also mentioned that he feels that he has a role in ending sexual abuse and harassment in the industry and creating a safe space for the actors.
