Kate Hudson is getting candid about her fans dubbing her the "Rom Com Queen." The Bride Wars actress recently visited the Not Gonna Lie with Kyle Kelce podcast on Thursday.

At one point during the podcast, the host asked Hudson for her opinion on being given the moniker of "Rom Com Queen."

Hudson, who started her career with big-budget rom-com movies, explained that she has mixed feelings about her past success in the genre. The How to Lose a Guy in 10 days actress appreciates her accomplishments in romantic comedies, but admitted that she once felt constrained by fans' expectations. She also shared that this pushed her to explore diverse roles beyond the genre.

“I think what happens when you have a very successful rom-com, it sort of becomes what people expect of you and want from you, and as an actor, you’re sort of like, ‘Yeah, but I want to do a million different things." she said.

She further added that the industry has a tendency to typecast actors, especially women.

"As Hollywood goes, they love to put you in a box. They love it. And so I think when you're younger, you don't want to be pigeonholed into an idea that that's what you do. And the second you have success in a rom-com as a woman, it's like they just want you in that. So it's like you love it, and then at the same time you're like, 'Yeah, but I want to do other things. I don't want to just do this all the time.' "

During her appearance on the podcast, Hudson also expressed her admiration for Beyoncé and praised the incredible work ethic both she and Taylor Swift share.

"I saw Beyoncé… I remember looking at her and being like, Oh my God, she's so beautiful, that's all I could think was like… Wow"

Kylie Kelce added:

Yes. The drive is incredible. To be able to witness it all is very cool.”
