Adam Pacman Jones, a former NFL cornerback, was taken into custody in Northern Kentucky on June 7, according to jail records. Pacman Jones was booked into the Kenton County Jail on charges that included public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and assaulting a police officer.
Covington police arrested the 41-year-old after responding to a disturbance call at the Second Story Bar on West Seventh Street shortly before 1 AM. Authorities said the incident involved a dispute between a customer and an employee.
As officers arrived on the scene, they were informed of a vehicle attempting to leave the area. Police stopped the car, which was driven by Pacman Jones, and placed him under arrest "on charges related to his level of intoxication and his behavior," according to a department press release. Officials then confirmed he had been drinking alcohol.
In a statement, the Covington Police Department emphasized accountability:
"The Covington Police Department takes incidents of this nature very seriously. We are committed to maintaining peace and ensuring the safety of all who live in or visit Covington, Adam Jones is being held to the same standard of conduct as any other individual in our community." the release read.

Pacman Jones has had his share of legal issues. In late 2024, following a post-fight evening that spiraled into chaos in Arlington, Texas. Pacman Jones was arrested hours after the Mike Tyson and Jake Paul match on multiple charges, including public intoxication, resisting arrest, and assaulting a peace officer, as reported by The New York Times.
The trouble began just after 1 AM at the βLive! by Loewsβ hotel, about half a mile from AT&T Stadium. Hotel security alerted an off-duty police officer working at the venue after a fight erupted in the bar area. When the officer arrived, the conflict appeared to be cooling, but police said Jones wasnβt done yet.
According to the report, Jones βcontinued approaching and yelling at the others involved,β prompting the officer to step between them. She warned him that if he kept pushing for a fight, she would arrest him.
That warning didnβt seem to land. A second scuffle broke out shortly after, again involving Jones. During efforts to break it up, police said he βhit the officer on her arm,β after which she attempted to arrest him. Jones tried to get away, pulling free from her grip and walking off before backup arrived. Officers were ultimately able to detain him and take him into custody.
It had been only a year since Pacman Jones pleaded guilty to a disorderly conduct charge in Boone County District Court.
Then, in the early hours of September 11, 2023, Jones was back in the spotlight. Police at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport responded to a disturbance involving an unruly passenger on a United Airlines flight, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported.
Pacman Jones: A career that couldnβt escape chaos
Pacman Jones once entered the NFL spotlight as a first-round pick by the Tennessee Titans in 2005. He went on to spend the majority of his career with the Cincinnati Bengals, playing until 2018, though not continuously. The league suspended him for the entire 2007 season, and he missed 2009 after being released by the Dallas Cowboys. During his brief time with Dallas, he was also suspended for four games in 2008.
Off the field, Jones faced his share of legal troubles. Police either arrested or questioned him in connection with eight different incidents. Perhaps the most infamous came in 2007, when a nightclub shooting in Las Vegas left a man paralyzed. The fallout eventually led to an $11 million civil judgment against Jones.
In 2017, he pleaded guilty to a single misdemeanor count of obstructing a police officer. That resulted in a one-game suspension handed down by the league to start that season. He finished his NFL career after a short stint with the Denver Broncos in 2018, appearing in just seven games.
