Kick streamer Raja Jackson, son of MMA legend Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson, is making headlines for his alleged brutal in-ring attack on KnokX Pro wrestler Syko Stu. The assault was captured live on stream from a private wrestling event by KnokX Pro Academy held in Los Angeles.
According to USA Today, Jackson's Kick account streamed the event. Video evidence from his Kick stream as well as other videos posted to X suggest Raja was at the event to support his friend, another wrestler working for the promotion. Syko Stu reportedly mistook Raja for a fellow wrestler pre-show, and smashed a can of beer on his head, a common ‘work’ in the profession. Raja was infuriated by the act, and eventually it was agreed that he could get some payback later in the ring when the event began. The two even shook hands.
When Raja Jackson got his chance for some restitution, he took it too far. According to CNN, when Jackson got the nod to enter the ring, he first slammed Syko Stu to the canvas at which point he was rendered unconscious. Raja Jackson then proceeded to land over 20 punches on the downed Stu’s head, until he was forcibly separated from him by a host of other wrestlers who intervened when they realised what was happening.
KnokX Pro Entertainment & Academy took to Facebook to release a statement on the shocking events,
“First and foremost our thoughts and prayers are with our brother Mr. Stuart Smith (Syko Stu) as he remains a priority and we are monitoring his well being.”
It continued,
“What was supposed to be a planned and agreed upon wrestling spot, turned into a selfish, irresponsible act of violence against Mr. Smith. This egregious act is reprehensible and never should have occurred.”
Quinton Jackson weighs in on son Raja Jackson’s predicament
Raja Jackson’s father, decorated MMA legend Quinton Jackson weighed in on the situation once more information was available via X. The crucial insight came in the first line of the X post where Quinton Jackson, who is popularly known as Rampage, revealed that Syko Stu was "awake and stable", as many questioned if he would be able to survive the assault.
“I want to clear up the misinformation about my son Raja. I’ve been confirmed that the wrestler ( Stewart Smith aka Syko Stu) is awake and stable.”
The ex-UFC champion continued,
“Raja was told that he could get his “payback”in the ring,i thought it was apart of the show. It was bad judgement, and a work that went wrong. Raja is a MMA fighter not a pro wrestler and had no business involved in an event like this.”
Quinton then made sure to clarify,
“I don’t condone my son’s actions AT ALL!” He added: “As a father, im deeply concerned with his health AND the well being of Mr. Smith. That being said I’m very upset that any of this happened, but my main concern now is that Mr. Smith will make a speedy recovery.I apologize on his behalf and to KICK for the situation.”
Raja Jackson could face serious charges as a result of this incident, although currently nothing has been confirmed.
