Steven Anthony Lawrence, best known for playing Bernard “Beans” Aranguren on Disney Channel’s Even Stevens, has made serious allegations against his former employer, Universal Studios Hollywood. The former child actor claims he was fired in retaliation for reporting a suspected pedophile at the workplace. His statements have drawn attention online and sparked debate, though no official findings have been confirmed.

Lawrence shared his claims in an Instagram post on Saturday. He posted a photo of his Universal Studios work ID placed next to a large Toad costume, suggesting his role involved working around children. In the caption, he said he had hoped to resolve the matter privately but decided to speak out after his employment ended.

According to Lawrence, he could no longer stay silent because of the nature of what he reported. He said the situation raised serious concerns about child safety. At this time, Universal Studios has not publicly responded to his claims, and no evidence has been released to support or dispute his statements.

Allegations of retaliation

TMZ reported that Steven Anthony Lawrence argued that he lost his job because he called out an alleged child molester inside Universal Studios Hollywood. He alleged retaliation against him by his immediate superior and a human resources representative.

Lawrence said in his Instagram caption that he was not fired voluntarily. He said he was marginalized after raising concerns within the organization. He also claimed that he did not want an adversarial relationship with Universal and thus waited for a proper resolution before he could share the news. In his view, such a result never occurred.

Steven Anthony Lawrence explained that it would be against his conscience to remain in Universal. He stated that he could not identify himself with a working environment where, as per his report, a grave issue involving children was not addressed in the right manner. His phrasing focused on individual accountability rather than legal determinations.

It should be mentioned that Steven Anthony Lawrence did not present any documents, emails, or official reports in order to prove his statement. No police intervention has been established.

Public reaction and lack of official response

He soon garnered support on social media. Some of the respondents included his former Even Stevens co-star Christy Carlson Romano, who publicly defended him in the remarks.

Universal Studios Hollywood has not responded to it publicly despite the attention. In the first post, Steven Anthony Lawrence said that he had referred to his former boss and an HR representative. At this point, neither of them has filed a statement.

The situation remains unclear without verification and the investigation's findings. The silence of Universal has sparked conjecture online, though no fact has been proven.
