According to Us Weekly, which obtained court documents, Teyana Taylor accused Shumpert of being a “professional victim” in private messages shared as part of the ongoing legal proceedings. The messages came to light shortly after Shumpert requested that Teyana Taylor be ordered to cover his legal expenses.

On July 7, Shumpert petitioned the court for attorney’s fees in their legal battle. At the heart of the dispute, both parties claimed the other violated the terms of their 2024 divorce agreement.

Shumpert denied Taylor’s claim that he leaked information to the press, stating she had no evidence to support the accusation. Shumpert’s alleged reply read:

“You keep trying to text first and be professional after you crash out. It’s getting tired.”

Taylor responded in return, saying:
