However, his list of offences goes back years. Back in 2020, he was arrested after he got into an altercation with Cartwright. At the time, he was up against several charges, and was eventually convicted of felony strangulation, menacing, assault and harassment. Page Six has reported that, at the time, Cartwright woke up to her boyfriend pulling her hair and beating her over missing phone chargers. She claimed that the abuse began a few weeks prior and accused him of near-fatal strangulation. Zachery Ty Bryan was eventually only convicted of menacing and assault. He reportedly addressed his fight with Cartwright in a 2023 interview with Hollywood Reporter: "We didn't even really get that physical. We got really loud. We were screaming, and because we were in a townhome that had [thin walls], everybody could hear," he said. "Johnnie was, at the time, just really upset about my situation." As for his girlfriend, she was also charged with driving under the influence, three counts of reckless endangerment, and attempted first-degree assault this past weekend. She is expected before a judge on Monday, December 1. Zachery Ty Bryan shares several kids with Cartwright, Page Six has reported. He was previously married to Carly Matros from 2007 to 2020. In February 2024, he was arrested under a suspected DUI in Riverside, California, and again for the same charge and driving without a license in Custer County, Okla., in October 2024. Earlier this year, he was detained following reports that he “punched a woman multiple times and threatened to kill her.” As of this writing, the identity of the woman in question remains unclear. One of his exes, whose name is unclear, was granted a five-year restraining order against him after she alleged that he "punched her in the head” in July. He acknowledged his string of behaviours just earlier this month, Page Six has reported, referring to it as a “painful wake-up call.”“Fame as a child actor left scars — being thrust into the spotlight at nine years old brought pressures I wasn’t equipped to handle — but that’s no justification for my choices as an adult,” he told TMZ, adding that he “deeply” regretted his actions. Bryan stated that he’s “struggled with the lasting effects of early fame, addiction, and poor decision-making,” which he blames for his “repeated legal issues.” Stay tuned to SoapCentral for more.
