Hip hop mogul Sean Diddy Combs will be spending this year’s Christmas in prison, but it seems there won’t be any compromise on the celebrations. He has been denied bail for the third time on November 27, 2024, and his trial date is set for May 5, 2025.

Moreover, Judge Arun Subramanian denied Diddy's request to move from his prison cell to a luxury apartment on Manhattan's Upper East Side. The decision cited concerns over his violent tendencies and inability to follow rules, along with evidence of witness tampering and violations of prison regulations, such as using other inmates' phone codes to contact unauthorized individuals.

As per a TMZ exclusive from December 4, 2024, the inmates at the Metropolitan Detention Center, Brooklyn will be offered card games and sports like dominoes on Christmas. Part of the festivities would include a Spades tournament, a 3-on-3 basketball tourney, and a soccer match.

Since Christmas is incomplete without good food, the menu for the day will include baked Cornish hen, mac and cheese, cranberry sauce, dinner rolls, and a holiday dessert. In November 2024, MDC provided a special Thanksgiving meal for inmates.

For instance, for breakfast, they had fruit, cereal, and pastries, while lunch featured a traditional Thanksgiving menu with options such as turkey roast or hot and sour tofu, accompanied by mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, cranberry sauce, gravy, dinner rolls, and a selection of holiday pies. Dinner consisted of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, potato chips, whole wheat bread, and fruit, according to The Independent.

A roundup of the latest updates regarding Diddy’s case

On December 2, 2024, James Comey’s daughter, Maurene Comey, joined the prosecution bench against Diddy. She is known for the litigation against Ghislaine Maxwell, who was convicted of sexually exploiting and abusing minor girls along with financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Federal prosecutors opposed Diddy's request for release on $50 million bail, arguing it failed to guarantee community safety, prevent interference with the case, or ensure he wouldn’t flee, citing a history of alleged violence.

This happened on November 25, 2024, when defense attorneys countered, claiming his detention since September 2024 has been unconstitutional. Judge Subramaniam denied the bail on November 27, 2024.

Previously, prosecutors opposing Combs's bail request accused him of attempting to influence witness testimony by directing family members to contact victims and potential witnesses to shape their narratives. They also alleged he asked his children to post a social media video for his birthday to sway potential jurors.

On his 55th birthday, Diddy spoke to his children via phone, expressing pride in their resilience amidst the current situation. Before that, his lawyers later requested Judge Subramanian impose a gag order on potential witnesses, citing excessive pretrial publicity they claim jeopardizes his right to a fair trial.

The request followed public comments by a friend of Combs's late girlfriend, Kim Porter, who alleged he had testified about footage showing Combs committing sexual assaults, including against minors.
