Oscar Isaac talks about returning to the Star Wars franchise

In a GQ Magazine interview, Oscar Isaac spoke about his possibility of Star Wars. He played the role of Poe Dameron, who is a fighter pilot of the X-wing in the sequel trilogy. Isaac was asked about his quote, where he said he'd do the film if he needed a new house.

“Yeah. That was a real likable quote. Jesus Christ. Y’know, people ask you things, you say stuff, you don’t really think about it that much. I said a slightly dickish thing.”

He added that he is not open to this possibility.

“Although right now I’m not so open to working with Disney. But if they can kinda figure it out and, you know, not succumb to fascism, that would be great."

Besides the trilogy, Isaac also lent his voice to the character in an animated series called Star Wars Resistance. He is also a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)'s Disney+ series named Moon Knight.

The franchise began in 1977 with the namesake film directed by George Lucas. It was followed by the sequels Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (1983). Lucas later expanded the saga with a prequel trilogy released between 1999 and 2005. Disney bought its production house, Lucasfilm, in 2012, which gave the studio ownership of the franchise. This was followed by the sequel trilogy, which began in 2015 and concluded in 2019.
