After a successful reign at the box office, Ryan Coogler's Sinners might make a return to theaters this Halloween with 70 mm IMAX screens. Although confirmation has not yet come from Warner Bros., IMAX, or the film's official channels, several pieces of evidence have surfaced that suggest that the film will once again be available in theaters for fans as a Halloween treat.
Earlier this week, Reddit users shared showtime listings at certain 70 mm IMAX venues, especially Autonation IMAX, which has allegedly listed Sinners for an October 31st show. More users have amplified the rumors, citing these rumors and encouraging people to catch the film in theaters once again.
The film was originally released with 70 mm IMAX prints and, in May 2025, received a limited 70 mm IMAX re-release in select theaters. This makes the re-release on Halloween much more likely, as it's not unheard of for horror films to return to theaters during the spooky season.
October is generally the perfect month for horror/gothic-themed fare, and Sinners definitely leans into that vibe. The film performed pretty well among fans and garnered much appreciation from the public for its story and direction.
Further confirmation on the re-release is awaited for now.
More details about Sinners

Ryan Coogler's Sinners became one of the biggest gothic horror treats of the year with a story that blends American history, blues mythology, the magic of music, and the raw ache of survival. Set in the Mississippi Delta in 1032, the story is about twin brothers Smoke and Stack, who return home after working with Chicago mobsters with a simple dream: To open a juke joint for Black people where they can breathe, dance, and escape Jim Crow's grip.
A group is formed to work on the joint, including the twins' cousin Sammie, who is musically gifted. His performance of the blues transcends life as he summons spirits from the past and present as the joint lights up with music. It also summons a vampire, Remmick, and his two companions, Bert and Joan, who were Klansmen turned into his brood. He is attracted by Sammie's music, which can attract other worldly spirits, and wishes to have him by his side to visit his own loved ones.
The story then takes dark turns as battles ensue, with many joining the other side, and many leaving with a tragic end. It's a story about survival first, and the power of music in the right and wrong hands.
The film stars Michael B. Jordan as the twin brothers, joined by Hailee Steinfeld, Miles Caton, Jack O'Connell, Wunmi Mosaku, Jayme Lawson, Omar Benson Miller, and Delroy Lindo. The cast was much praised for their performances in the film, which was widely considered one of the best horror films of the year.
Sinners is now streaming on Disney+ and Hulu.
