Jhené Aiko visited the burned-out remnants of her family's house three months after it was destroyed by a wildfire in the Pacific Palisades and gave her fans a heartfelt and moving message. "Idk who needs to hear this, but you absolutely MUST cry about it...as often as the feeling comes."
Jhené Aiko visited the location of her previous home in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of West Los Angeles on April 7, 2025. The R&B singer has not physically seen the property since the January wildfires destroyed her $5.6 million house.
On May 7, Aiko shared pictures of the charred remains- burned trees, a melted car, and crumbled rubble strewn where her home once stood- on her Instagram stories, sharing the intensely personal experience.
She wrote on her Instagram story:
"Finally saw it for myself...3 months later. Sometimes a sigh is not enough...you gotta scream 'F------------!!!' at the top of your lungs."
The wildfires that changed everything for Jhené Aiko
One of the most catastrophic wildfires in modern Los Angeles history occurred in the Pacific Palisades in January 2025. According to The Los Angeles Times, 30 people were killed in the blaze that ripped through wealthy communities due to dry weather and unrelenting Santa Ana winds. 6,800 buildings are thought to have been destroyed.
Several celebrities' homes were turned to ashes, including Jhené Aiko's. Chrissy Teigen, John Legend, Zoey and Emily Deschanel, Tina Knowles, and Paris Hilton were among the other celebrities who lost.
Days after the fire, on January 9, Aiko posted on Instagram to let people know about the terrible loss:
"Me and my children's home is gone, burned to the ground with all of our things inside. Lord have mercy 🙏 Thankful we still have each other 💙 starting from scratch. My heart is so heavy 💔."
Aiko talked about the power of suffering and offered her prayers to other catastrophe victims in the same January post:
"Praying for everyone this morning. Those who lost their home, those who lost their life's work, those who lost their life. Praying for my city. Praying for the wildlife and lost pets. Praying for the world. Let suffering be a gift; a lesson in compassion."
Jhené Aiko now starts rebuilding- emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Despite the tremendous loss of her house, her focus on thankfulness, family, and emotional genuineness has had a significant impact on her admirers and followers.
She is currently focusing on her music and two kids, 2-year-old Noah Hasani, whom she shares with rapper Big Sean, and 16-year-old Namiko Love with her ex, O'Ryan.
