Tom Felton is returning as Draco Malfoy later this year. The 37-year-old actor will not be reprising his role in HBO’s untitled Harry Potter series but will portray the character in a Broadway production.

Felton recently appeared on NBC’s Today show. Speaking to the co-hosts, Craig Melvin and Savannah Guthrie, the English actor announced being a part of the upcoming Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Felton announced,

“I will be joining the amazing cast of ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ here on Broadway, reprising my old role as Draco Malfoy.”

Savannah Guthrie pointed out that Felton will be the first one among the original cast members to reprise his role. The actor replied,

“It’s very much a pinch-me situation. I keep thinking I’m dreaming. I let go of that character 16 years ago, and now I get to step back into his shoes, as a father this time, in a new story. I get to meet Draco as an adult.”

“if you ever feel bad just remember that you will never be tom felton levels of jobless, unemployed and desperate.”

Another user added,

“He is the only member of the original Harry Potter cast who hasn’t moved on.”

Apart from Malfoy’s role, Daily Mail reported in April about Tom Felton’s off-camera involvement in the HBO adaptation of Harry Potter.
