Young Thug's leaked jail call controversy revisited as girlfriend Mariah the Scientist reveals it almost ended their relationship

Mariah the Scientist during a recent appearance on Hot 97 reflected on Young Thug's jail call controversy. The singer opened up about the time her intimate jail visit with Thug leaked online and said:

"I never wanted his kids, or anyone else, to see the depth of our intimacy."

In the leaked video, Mariah can be seen saying, "Merry Christmas, I love you, I miss you" to Young Thug and blowing a kiss into the camera.

She also added:

"We worked through it or whatever. It was a lot."

Mariah also noted that the incident in which Thug's jail calls with other women were also leaked, put a serious strain on their relationship:

"It was almost the end."

What is Young Thug's jail call controversy

In December 2024, Young Thug's jail calls to Maria the Scientist and several other women were leaked. The leaked 2022 jail call between Thug and Instagram model Leena Sayed set the internet ablaze after Sayed can be heard saying, "I want you" to Thug at the time.

Thug who was reportedly dating Mariah The Scientist at the time can be heard saying, "move on" and "find love" with someone new to Leena.

In another leaked call, Thug casually mentioned that Maria loved him too much and he spoke to up to 10 women each week "just to pass the time."

After the calls were leaked, Thug took took to X to apologize to Maria and said:

"Sorry to my baby for all this bulls**t on the internet. I love you baby and f**k em all we know what's up with us!"

Thug on Christmas gave another update on their relationship and said:

"She so mad, I said merry Christmas and she said thank u."

However, Mariah appeared to have accepted his apology at the time as the couple were spotted together at a ski lodge in Big Bear, California on Christmas day.

Thug while acknowledging his call with Leena said:

Sayed while also responding to the video said that the video was from "before I met my (baby daddy)" and that she would "never talk to Thug or any other man."
