Not Terminator, but this comedy film earned Arnold Schwarzenegger his biggest pay cheque

Although he is the main character in it, it wasn't the movie where he got his biggest paycheck. In a recent interview with Andy Cohen, he discussed this and shocked him by revealing that Twins (1988) earned him the most individually compared to his other films.

He said,

"Well, number one was ‘Twins’ because we got no money for the salary but ownership with a piece of the back end. It was fantastic. We went all the way to the bank with that."

The actor played Julius Benedict in the buddy comedy film alongside Danny DeVito, who portrayed his fraternal twin brother, Vincent Benedict. It was made on an $18 million budget and earned $216 million worldwide. However, it wasn't a critical success and currently has a 42% critic approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The magazine ranked him at the top of its list of the richest actors in 2025. That's not entirely from acting alone, but also from his investments in real estate.

George Clooney, known from the Ocean's trilogy, has a net worth of $756 million, and his fellow franchise star, Brad Pitt, is also on the list with $594 million.

Interestingly, Clooney starred with Arnold Schwarzenegger in Batman & Robin (1997). Between Clooney and Pitt on the list is the legendary Robert De Niro, with $735 million to his name.

Lastly, the Arnold Schwarzenegger-dominated list also features iconic actors, including Jack Nicholson with $590 million, Tom Hanks with $571 million, and Jackie Chan with $557 million.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has starred in many films, and some of them have earned big profits after their release. The Terminator movies have certainly played a major role in this commercial success.

Terminator 2: Judgment Day is his highest-grossing film, earning around $520 million on a budget of about $100 million. The other two major hits in the franchise are Terminator Genisys (2015) and Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, which made $440 million and $433 million globally, respectively.

The actor also portrayed a secret agent in the 1994 James Cameron film True Lies, which grossed $378 million. Prior to that, he starred as the lead in Paul Verhoeven's Total Recall, which earned $61 million during its run.
