Josh Duhamel will soon be back on the big screens with his upcoming action film Off the Grid alongside Academy Award-nominated star Gregory Kinnear. The movie is being helmed by Johnny Martin, who has worked in association with screenwriter Jim Agnew.

The story revolves around a bright-minded scientist whose recent breakthrough in his field turns his life upside down. Off the Grid reportedly went into the post-production stage by mid-2024, and filming primarily took place in various locations in Clinton, Mississippi.

Off the Grid centers on a genius scientist (portrayed by Josh Duhamel) who has recently invented a reactor/generator that carries immense power with respect to the modern world's requirements (one for the future). However, he does not want his employers (with bad intentions) to find out about his scientific breakthrough.

But things go awry when word goes out about the scientist's brilliant innovation. Instead of making good use of the generator (as small as to fit in one's palm), the company (he worked for) tries to weaponize the instrument. As a result, the protagonist quits his job, goes 'Off the Grid' and stays in hiding for a really long time.

However, things soon get heated when dangerous hired men are sent to hunt the scientist down in any way possible. Little do his ex-employers know that the brilliant mind is always a step ahead of his enemies. As the scientist goes on the run (fighting the bad men off his back) to protect his one-in-a-million invention, the plot further culminates.
