A classic movie that has this trope, but also in such a nuanced manner that it leaves a lasting impact on the minds of the viewers. What starts as just a bet ends up becoming so much more than that.

The misunderstandings, schemes, and ultimately falling in love despite the situations are truly one of a kind in this movie. Andie and Benjamin have two completely different personalities.

Each of them has different goals to achieve in their lives. So when an opportunity arrives, they do not think twice before jumping in to achieve their goals. However, the catch was that they had to make the other fall in love with them.

Though they start not aware of the other’s secret agendas, each of them tries their best to make the other fall in love and then break up. Ben is desperate to win his bet, and Andie tries her best to end things with Ben to win hers. As time passes, they slowly start to form a real connection with one another beyond the facade.

The real chemistry shines through. After the secrets are revealed, they have a meltdown and each goes their own way. However, the story does not end there.
