One Battle After Another leads Golden Globe nominations, details revealed

One Battle After Another garners the most Golden Globe nominations. Out of all the nominated films, this Leonardo DiCaprio starrer leads the list with a total of nine nominations.

The film explores the plot of how an ex-rebel father faces his buried past when his daughter is abducted by his political rival.

One Battle After Another bags nine Golden Globe nominations

One Battle After Another has secured a total of nine nominations at the Golden Globes 2026.

The film was welcomed with immense love and acclaim upon its release. Currently, it has a score of a whopping 94% on Rotten Tomatoes. Given its positive critical response, we certainly saw these nominations coming!

Here are all the categories it has been nominated for at the Golden Globes:

  • Best Motion Picture
  • Best Screenplay (Paul Thomas Anderson)
  • Best Director (Paul Thomas Anderson)
  • Best Original Score – Motion Picture (Jonny Greenwood)
  • Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture (Chase Infiniti)
  • Best Performance by a Male Actor (Leonardo DiCaprio)
  • Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role (Teyana Taylor)
  • Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role (Benicio del Toro)
  • Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role (Sean Penn)

Paul Thomas Anderson has been previously nominated for his work, too, for films such as Magnolia, The Master, Licorice Pizza, and many more.

Moreover, this is also the first time Teyana Taylor and Chase Infiniti have earned nominations at the Golden Globes for their performances in the film. It is certainly delightful to see their work getting duly acknowledged. All of these make the nominations even more special.

In the category of supporting actors, Benicio del Toro and Sean Penn from One Battle After Another have been nominated. Earlier, Del Toro had won the award for his work in Traffic. Penn, too, for his work in Mystic River.

The lead actor, DiCaprio, had won the award for The Wolf of Wall Street. It was under the same category as this time.

And lastly, composer Jonny Greenwood, who has previously worked with Paul Thomas Anderson, was also earlier nominated for his work in one of the director's films — Phantom Thread. It was in the same category as One Battle After Another, which has been nominated.
