1) Mark Wahlberg as Parker

Mark Wahlberg's Parker is the creation of author Donald E. Westlake. He is a robber who works with precision and proficiency. The film is based on the Parker series of books by Westlake, where he serves as the main protagonist. He has no moral compass and he is willing to do anything to get what he wants. But Parker avoids killing people to avoid the cops' attention. Wahlberg has appeared in titles like The Italian Job, The Fighter, and Planet of the Apes.

2) LaKeith Stanfield as Alan Grofield

Just like Parker, Alan Grofield is also a creation of Donald E. Westlake. He is a criminal and a thief. Despite his criminal background, Grofield is charming and knows how to woo people, especially women. He starts out by developing a summer stock theater and eventually transitions into the world of crime. LaKeith Stanfield has acted in films like Short Term 12, Uncut Gems, Dope, and Knives Out.

Play Dirty is produced by Jules Daly, Susan Downey, and Marc Toberoff under the production banner of Team Downey. In an interview with Will Neff, Mark Wahlberg spoke about how he prepared for the role. He said,

“For this, I wanted to be a little bit more lean, a little bit more fit but we wanted to make sure the character itself was really the focus. So we definitely worked out throughout the movie, we worked out leading up to the movie.”

In a different interview, the actor spoke about how he gave importance to eight hours of sleep.

"I learned the hard way over the years, which is why I try to show what I do every day, just so I can show people that it is about the work, it is about the discipline, and this is the only way that I could be successful, both personally and professionally. I feel like after the workout, I can conquer the world, and then all the problems start hitting. I can dodge and leave them a little bit more."

Philippe Rousselot is the Play Dirty's director of photography, while Joel Negron and Chris Lebenzon are the editors. The music is composed by Alan Silvestri. It was shot across different locations in Australia.
