The Puerto Rico Critics Association has officially released the nominations for film achievements this year. The winners of the Puerto Rico Critics Association Awards are set to be announced on January 2, 2026.

The winners of the 2024 Puerto Rico Critics Association Awards were as follows,

  • Best picture: The Substance
  • Best Puerto Rican film: Bella
  • Best international feature: I'm Still Here
  • The Raúl Juliá award: Aris Mejías for Bella
  • Rising Star award: Katy O'Brian for Love Lies Bleeding and Twisters
  • Cinematographic Resistance award: Rachel Szor, Hamdan Ballal, Yuval Abraham, and Basel Adra for No Other Land
  • Best action film: Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga
  • Best horror film: The Substance
  • Best comedy or musical: Wicked
  • Best documentary: No Other Land
  • Best animated feature: The Wild Robot
  • Best first film: Monkey Man
  • Best director: Coralie Fargeat for The Substance
  • Best original screenplay: The Substance
  • Best adapted screenplay: Conclave
  • Best actor: Colman Domingo for Sing Sing
  • Best actress: Demi Moore for The Substance
  • Best supporting actor: Bill Skarsgård for Nosferatu

The 2025 Puerto Rico Critics Association nominations are led by Sinners, One Battle After Another, and Frankenstein. These films have secured multiple nods across significant categories. Other notable titles such as Hamnet, Sentimental Value, Sirāt, and The Testament of Ann Lee have also been featured.

Puerto Rico Critics Association's official website reads,

"To uplift the diverse and passionate group of critics that capture the viewpoints of all Puerto Rican backgrounds, both of whom live on the Island and abroad."

It also adds,

"A dedicated team of seasoned and accredited film critics make up the Board of Directors of the Puerto Rico Critics Association, whose passion for film drives them to advocate for accessibility and diversity. We work to open doors in a closed-door industry, advocating for talented film critics that break the mold of traditional media appreciation."
