Word on the streets is that Reba McEntire and her boyfriend of five years, Rex Linn, are engaged. The news of their engagement was initially shared by an E! News reporter at the Emmy Awards 2025, who referred to the couple as fiancés. McEntire then quipped:
"We're having a blast on Happy's Place and so glad to be here tonight."
The lovebirds met in the 1990s but only started dating decades later in 2020 after reconnecting on the set of the hit series Young Sheldon. According to McEntire, in an October 2021 interview on Today, the couple came together after her mother passed away, and they bonded during quarantine:
"In 2020, when Mama got sick, he called me. We'd gotten to see each other before because we're both on Young Sheldon. So starting in March of 2020, we kept talking and visiting and finally got together to see each other in June."
The country singer, who has been married twice before, to Charlie Battles in 1976 and Narvel Blackstock in 1989, revealed that she didn't mind getting married for a third time to Linn.
"If that's something he feels totally strong about, that's fine with me," Reba—who was married to Charlie Battles from 1976 to 1987 and to Narvel Blackstock from 1989 to 2015—shared in an April 2024 interview. "He's never been married before. So, if he wants to experience that, I'm OK with that."
Reba McEntire and Rec Linn’s relationship timeline explored as the couple confirms that they are engaged

The lovebirds initially met in 1991 but reconnected after the death of McEntire’s mother. The Fancy singer revealed that they became “inseparable” after that time. By 2023, Reba McEntire had fallen in love and expressed the same to PROPLE at an event in NYC. She told the news outlet that her boyfriend was “a very supportive man” and she loved him with all her heart.
In February 2024, Reba McEntire was still singing Rex Linn’s praises, adding that every day was Valentine's for them, and they had similar interests in things:
"We're just silly, goofy people in our 60s that love life [and] love each other. We have fun. We're dorky, goofy, and we have similar interests in just about everything, so it's just fun all the time."
In November 2024, Rex Linn told WBIR Channel 10 he wanted to cross the finish line with Reba McEntire.
