Allison Williams is making her big screen return in the upcoming romance drama film Regretting You this month.
Josh Boone is at the helm of the project that has been adapted from the Colleen Hoover novel by the same name.
The story revolves around a young woman who has recently been struck by tragedy and is trying to cope with the loss while balancing her relationship with her adolescent daughter. Allison Williams will be joined by a star-studded lineup, including Dave Franco, McKenna Grace, Scott Eastwood, and Willa Fitzgerald in some of the lead roles.
The official synopsis of Regretting You, per IMDb, reads:
"Centers on the strained relationship between young mother Morgan Grant and her teenage daughter Clara, exacerbated by Morgan's husband Chris's tragic death, forcing them to navigate life's challenges together."
When will Regretting You be released?
Regretting You will have its theatrical premiere in the United States on October 24, 2025, with Paramount Pictures holding distribution rights. On the other hand, Constantin Films will release the movie in Germany one day before. According to reports, filming of Regretting You took place earlier this year in Atlanta, and the project was first announced in 2024.
What do we know about the plot of Regretting You?
Regretting You starts with the story of a woman named Morgan Grant (played by Allison Williams) who had to give up on her aspirations after the birth of her first child, Clara (portrayed by McKenna Grace), unexpectedly early in life. As the latter grows up and Morgan struggles with her daughter's adolescent phase, Clara's father dies in a tragic car accident, leaving the family amidst emotional turmoil.
Morgan's younger sister, Jenny Davidson, also gets killed in the crash, and Regretting You chronicles the struggle of the mother-daughter duo as regrets and tension start to build up among the other members of the family. The film revolves around the broken people who are left behind after the loss and how they tackle every emotion (love, hatred, sadness, and grief) while trying to maintain sanity as well as a habitable environment.
Who is in the cast of Regretting You?
Regretting You will feature an ensemble cast led by award-winning star Allison Williams, who plays the protagonist, a young widowed woman, Morgan Grant. She will be joined by Mckenna Grace in the role of Morgan's daughter, Clara, and Scott Eastwood in the part of her father (& Morgan's late husband) Chris.
A fan-favorite face from Reacher, Willa Fitzgerald will portray Morgan's late younger sister Jenny, while Dave Franco will play the role of her husband Jonah Sullivan. Among others in the cast, we have:
