Reiner family tragedy: Eldest son Jake Reiner allegedly supports sister Romy amid death of parents

Jake Reiner is reportedly staying by his sister's side amidst the tragedy that has shaken the world. Jake's parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, were found dead in their house on December 14, after which Jake's brother Nick was taken into custody.

The couple had three children: Romy, Nick, and Jake Reiner. According to recent reports, Jake is doing his best to help his sister, Romy, move forward during this difficult time. Speaking of Jake Reiner, a source reportedly told Daily Mail:

"Jake has had to step into a paternalistic role. His motto is "family first." That's something Rob and Michele had always prioritized and taught their children."

The source added:

"Jake is determined to get his sister through this. It's an enormous burden, but he's the oldest and he sees it as his duty.'"

As of now, they are reportedly at a private beach house in Southern California after a state of emergency was declared in California by Governor Gavin Newsom due to heavy storms.

Romy will reportedly be turning twenty-nine on December 28. Jake Reiner's mother's sisters, Martine and Suzanne, have reportedly come together to spend time with his family for the holiday week and for Romy's birthday.

Romy has often uploaded photos and videos, admiring her parents on social media. Celebrating Father's Day in 2021, Romy wrote on Instagram:

"Happy Father’s Day to the man who I could talk to forever and also the man who I can sit in silence with and be perfectly content. Love you forever. If this day is hard for you, remember that it’s just a Hallmark holiday."

The same year, she uploaded a photo of her parents on their anniversary with a caption:

"32 years together perfecting the art of laughter and nausea. I am forever grateful to be the result of two incredibly wonderful insane people who have more love than they know how to give. happy anniversary ❤️"

In a reported statement made by Nick's attorney, Alan Jackson, he said:

"There are very, very complex and serious issues that are associated with this case. These need to be thoroughly and very carefully dealt with. We ask that throughout this process you allow the system to move forward in the way that it was designed to move forward, not with a rush to judgment."

Billy Crystal and Larry David were among the first ones to visit Rob's house after the news came out.
