Channing Tatum recently starred in a film that critics called his career-best performance. Roofman, directed by Derek Cianfrance from a screenplay he co-wrote with Kirt Gunn. Other than Tatum, Kirsten Dunst, LaKeith Stanfield, Peter Dinklage, and more are also in the film.

Though it didn't blow up at the box office, it managed to make a place in the hearts of critics and audiences alike, sitting with a Tomatometer score of 86% and a Popcornmeter score of 85% as of this writing.

It was released in theaters on October 10, 2025, and after almost a couple of months, it is coming to Paramount+ for streaming, as Paramount announced. Despite a poor performance at the global box office, it is likely to become a success at the streaming platform, currently dominated by films like High Ground (2020), Jack Reacher (2012), Gladiator II (2024), and more.

Without diving too deep to avoid spoilers of Roofman, the Channing Tatum film focuses on Jeffrey Manchester, a character based on a real person who was a spree robber, robbing McDonald's outlets often.

Jeffrey is a man trying to provide for his family after his service in the United States Army. He has three kids to look after, and as a divorced person, it becomes a bit hectic for him to do that.

These are desperate times for him, and desperate times need desperate measures. So he puts his impeccable observational skills in play and plans to rob McDonald's, but treats people kindly, unlike what robbers usually do.

A lot happens in this comedy flick when you watch it, and Channing Tatum's performance will make sure you are dead laughing.

Where will Channing Tatum appear next after Roofman?

The actor is currently involved with a couple of projects as of this writing, Josephine and Avengers: Doomsday. Josephine, starring Gemma Chan, Philip Ettinger, and more, doesn't have a release date as of now, and Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled for a release on December 18, 2025.

Tatum will reprise his role of Gambit after appearing as the same in Deadpool & Wolverine (2024). He might also appear in the film's sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, but that is yet to be confirmed.
