On June 5, 2025, rumors circulated on the internet regarding Spider-Man: Brand New Day's filming schedule. It is rumored that Brand New Day, the follow-up to 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home, will begin filming this summer. Furthermore, the movie will be filmed in Glasgow, Scotland. If the upcoming Spider-Man movie is indeed filming in Glasgow, it will be interesting because portions of The Batman were filmed there.

However, it is important to note that this is just a rumor and it hasn't been officially confirmed. Furthermore, it is imperative to note that Tom Holland is still busy filming for Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, which is also releasing in 2026. It is expected that the actor will begin filming Spider-Man: Brand New Day after finishing Nolan's movie.

Will Spider-Man: Brand New Day be filmed in Glasgow this Summer?

In June 2025, The Herald published a report in which it stated that Brand New Day is set to begin filming in Glasgow under the rumored title, Blue Oasis. The paper claimed some filming notification engagement letters as a source for this report.

The Herald claimed that Spider-Man: Brand New Day, set to begin production in mid-August in Glasgow, will begin filming scenes at Bothwell Street, Waterloo Street, St. Vincent Street, and Oak Street through Richmond Street.

This is not the only Brand New Day rumor:

Just a few weeks ago, online entertainment published a report stating that Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner might join Tom Holland in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. If this ends up happening, then his role might be very similar to Tony Stark's in 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming.

What is Spider-Man: Brand New Day about?

As of now, we don't have any details of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, but we do know that it shares its title with a 2008 comic book storyline. It will follow Peter Parker navigating a world that has essentially forgotten him, thanks to Doctor Strange's memory-erasing spell. Producer Amy Pascal teased something similar in her appearances in December 2024 on Deadline's Behind the Lens podcast:

“We have to deal with the fact that he decided he was going to give up being Peter Parker [in No Way Home], and that he was going to focus on being Spider-Man because being Peter Parker was too hard.”

The title of the upcoming Spider-Man movie was officially revealed as "Brand New Day" at Sony's 2025 Cinema-Con panel. There, it was also confirmed that the movie will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who also directed 2021's Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Cretton said,

“I’m spending my time exploring the next stage of this amazing character with a team of the most incredible artists in the world. We’re all, just daily, nerding out over the suit, how to swing, how to create an event, an emotional story, and a ride that we haven’t really seen before.”

Hyping up the creative team working behind the scenes, the director continued:

“I really wish I could introduce you to our entire team who are working their bloods off for this. They are incredible, and you will see their amazing work when ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ hits your theaters.”
