Samara Weaving is officially revving up the chaos for Ready or Not 2, and let’s just say, she’s not coming to play hide-and-seek. She’s coming to finish the game.
Fresh off wrapping production, Weaving gave fans a gloriously on-brand tease: handcuffed to co-star Kathryn Newton in a photo posted on her social media, and now the bride is opening up on the chaos that is set to ensue in Ready or Not 2.
Speaking to ScreenRant about the film, Weaving said,
"I think it's exactly what the audience will want. It's just more, and bigger, but it's funny, and it's scary, and it's bada--. I think it'll tick all the boxes, and more. It was so much fun, I could have kept shooting that for ages. It was really good, and Kathryn, the whole cast, Elijah, everyone is just so funny and good. She's the best."
Directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett are all set to bring us a sequel that is bigger, bloodier, and somehow even more fun. Set to release in 2026, this one is most certainly a must-watch.
What is Ready or Not about?

Ready or Not flips the bridal fantasy on its decapitated little head. Forget cake, champagne, and awkward toasts; Grace, played by Samara Weaving, gets a wedding night full of crossbows, cult rituals, and goat pits. Directed by genre maniacs Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, this 2019 horror-comedy masterpiece invites us to the Le Domas estate, home of old money, generational curses, and a family game night that literally kills. Grace, a former foster kid just looking for love, draws the worst possible card from a cursed puzzle box: hide-and-seek. Sounds innocent, until the rich in-laws grab axes and antique rifles and start hunting her like it’s fox season. What follows is ninety minutes of unhinged, blood-soaked chaos, and yes, it’s as fun as it sounds.
What starts as innocent fun quickly spirals into a twisted game of survival. Grace is hunted through the family mansion by her new in-laws, all dressed in creepy masks and armed like a cult-themed renaissance fair. The stakes? If they don’t sacrifice her before dawn, they believe they’ll all die. Turns out, they’re not wrong.

Grace fights back with grit, rage, and sheer desperation, navigating betrayals, explosions, and goat pit trauma before emerging as the sole survivor. She’s bloodied, broken, and definitely divorced.
Critics praised the film’s dark humor, clever satire on wealth and privilege, and Weaving’s absolute powerhouse of a performance. Ready or Not made over $57 million on a $6 million budget and became an instant cult favorite.
Ready or Not is available to stream on Prime Video.
