Sentimental Value is one of the nominees at the 2025 SDFCS Awards for the Best Foreign Language Film category. Its actress, Elle Fanning, recently opened up about her projects during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, stating:

"I talked to (Trachtenberg) on Zoom… and we agreed to do it, and he told me it was filming pretty soon in New Zealand. Just when I was getting ready to go off there, my agents called me and they said, 'Joachim Trier has a film that he is thinking about you for.' I was like, 'Oh gosh, I really want to do this too.'"

Elle Fanning also added:

"I was a big fan, obviously, of 'The Worst Person in the World,' like everyone. You think of directors, and you think, 'Yeah, Joachim, he is on my bucket list,' but I did not know if there would ever necessarily be a part for me. I did not even necessarily care what the part was. After reading the script, I was in tears. And then I really just related to Rachel Kemp so much. I could just see how I wanted to play her."

She continued:

"There are definitely feelings that I can relate to, or maybe my younger self has felt. We find her at a place when she us lost, and a little depressed herself. I don't think she feels like she has much agency over her career and choices. She feels that she has so much to give, but you have to be given the opportunities or placed in those roles to show that."

Below is the complete list of nominees for the 2025 SDFCS, organized by category, with all names included as officially announced.
