The San Francisco Bay Area Film Critics Circle (SFBAFCC) has officially announced its 2025 nominations. The list features notable studio-backed projects, beloved names, relatively newer artists, and more.

San Francisco Bay Area Film Critics Circle (SFBAFCC) was founded in 2002. The organization was originally known as the San Francisco Film Critics Circle. It later became the San Francisco Bay Area Film Critics Circle, or SFBAFCC.

The group is made up of film journalists and critics from San Francisco Chronicle, San Jose Mercury News, Oakland Tribune, Contra Costa Times, San Francisco Bay Guardian, SF Weekly, East Bay Express, San Jose Metro, Palo Alto Weekly, Marin Independent Journal, NorthBay biz, The San Francisco Examiner, KRON TV, Variety, RottenTomatoes.com, Bleeding Cool, CultureVulture.net, Splicedwire.com, CombustibleCelluloid.com, and others.

The organization's description on its official website reads:

"Founded in 2002, the San Francisco Bay Area Film Critics Circle is comprised of critics from Bay Area publications. Its members include film journalists from the San Francisco Chronicle, the San Jose Mercury News, the Oakland Tribune, the Contra Costa Times, the San Francisco Bay Guardian, SF Weekly, the East Bay Express, the San Jose Metro, Palo Alto Weekly, the Marin Independent Journal, the San Francisco Examiner, KRON-TV, Variety, RottenTomatoes.com and more."

For 2025, the SFBAFCC nominations are led by One Battle After Another with 11 nominations. It is followed by Sinners with 9 and Sentimental Value with 8. Hamnet earned 7 nominations, and Train Dreams followed with 5. These five titles appear in the Best Picture lineup. Winners are set to be announced on December 14, 2025.
