Thunderbolts* is about to land in theaters, and fans are excited to see the ragtag bunch trying to find their way around the darkness Void has spread in New York City. Actually, they have already landed in some theaters, and spoilers have begun crowding the internet, so try to maintain a distance from them, netizens.
Florence Pugh plays Yelena Belova in the film, and before fans can see her character on the big screen, she has a little story to share about when she was filming alongside her co-actors. This involves her granny, Pat, who once stole the show at the 2022 Venice Film Festival. While appearing on Late Night with Seth Meyers, the actress explained how Granzo Pat took over the Thunderbolts* set. She said,
"She actually came to the set last year, and she was there with my mum for like two weeks. And they came to set , and she called action and cut."
Jake Schreier, who directs the film, gave Granny the green light. We can't really say how that sequence went, but it sure would have been fun to watch.
Granzo Pat always steals stardom from the Thunderbolts* star
We have already mentioned her appearance at the Venice Film Festival, but we have to add that she performed a little dance that all the photographers just loved as she nailed the all-white look. Then the pair appeared at Pugh's The Wonder premiere in London in October 2022, where Granzo Pat sported a black dress as she walked along with the actress, holding her hands.
The following year, in March, it was A Good Person‘s premiere in New York City, where Pat donned a white dress with a chain-like pattern all over it. They both smiled for the camera as photographers clicked our star alongside her accomplice, Florence Pugh.
Moving on to 2024, it was the premiere of Dune: Part Two, in which the Thunderbolts* star plays Emperor Shaddam IV's daughter Princess Irulan, in London, and Pat again donned the same dress. We have to say, Granny in white has the power to steal shows wherever she goes. Well, Granny is in black too.
Thunderbolts* is arriving on May 2, 2025
Just one more day to go for Thunderbolts*, which is already making waves, especially after early reviews of the film came in. Going by them, there's a high likelihood the Marvel Cinematic Universe will return to its former glory now that the Avengers are no longer protecting the Earth. Though the new group will see it's more than just Earth they are protecting.
The film is likely to put some more emphasis on these characters, as they are going to be pivotal to the conclusion of the Multiverse Saga. That said, if we can get to see Yelena's Red Room training, that would be a cherry on top.
Additionally, there are some discussions among netizens about how the film puts emphasis on mental health after the director shared some bits about it with IGN recently. With this aspect being included in the movie, it will surely give more depth to Florence Pugh's character if her past is presented.
Other than her, Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), U.S. Agent (Wyatt Russell), Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko), the three-in Bob (Lewis Pullman), Red Guardian (David Harbour), and Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen) are in the film. All of them with some messed-up past.
