She Said Maybe ending explained: Here's who Mavi chooses

She Said Maybe is a German romantic comedy drama film that was released on Netflix on September 19, 2025.

It's directed by Ngo The Chau and Buket Alakus, while Ipek Zubert wrote the script. Saner Ayar and Nurhan Sekerci Porst are the executive producers. The film has reportedly been generating much buzz on the internet since its release.

What is the plot of She Said Maybe?

She Said Maybe is about a girl named Mavi (played by Beritan Balci) who was born and raised in Germany. Later on, she realizes she has roots in a wealthy dynasty in Turkey. This revelation changes everything and affects her love life as well.

How does She Said Maybe end?

She Said Maybe focuses on how Mavi and her boyfriend, Can (Sinan Güleç), deal with the information that she is the heiress of a rich Turkish family. As the story inches towards the end, Mavi realizes that Guney is duping her grandma, Yadigar (Meral Perin). She finds this out with the help of Kent. As Mavi anticipates Yadigar to announce her as her successor, Can confronts her regarding Kent. This is because he wanted to propose to her and was irked because of her closeness with Kent. He was more worried about his future and proposal than what Mavi wanted.

Yadigar wanted Kent and Mavi to be for each other. However, Mavi was not romantically interested in him. Mavi eventually realizes that Can is only interested in her grandmother's wealth. Kent also moves on after knowing that she is not into him. This leaves Mavi on her own.

Towards the end of She Said Maybe, Yadigar sends a letter to her daughter seeking an apology and suggesting that she shouldn't let Can go because of her. Mavi runs towards the airport as he is about to leave the country. She confronts him in a taxi and says that she wants to marry him. It's a callback to all the attempts Can wanted to make to ask her to marry him. Subsequently, their engagement party is thrown, and it becomes apparent that she will be the successor of Yadigar.

The film ends on a happy note with Mavi and Can coming together and Mavi realizing what she wants from her life. Can might also do well in life with the help of his in-laws.
