Song Sung Blue cast and characters: Here's who brought the latest Hugh Jackman drama to life

The latest musical drama by Craig Brewer, Song Sung Blue, didn't quite strike gold at the box office, but it did strike a chord with the critics and the audiences alike. The proof of it is on the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, where critics have given it a 76% score, while the audience score is 97%. While people are loving it, the real-life son of the couple didn't quite like the film.

It is based on the biographical documentary of the same name that came out in 2008, directed by Greg Kohs. It tells the story of entertainers Mike and Claire Sardina, who used to perform as a tribute band called Lightning & Thunder.

Hugh Jackman plays Mike Sardina, who begins a relationship with Clair, and then they both begin a Neil Diamond tribute band. There's love in the beginning, but his love life goes sideways when something happens to his wife.

Kate Hudson as Claire "Thunder" Sardina

Kate Hudson appears as Mike's wife, who has met with an accident in which she lost her leg. She struggles in a life like this, and there's a moment when she also thinks that Mike is cheating on her after the accident.

Other than Song Sung Blue, the actress has appeared in films such as How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003), Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery (2022), and more. For her role in the latest film, she got nominated for a Golden Globe Award.

King Princess as Angelina Sardina

The singer and actress is Claire's stepdaughter and Mike's daughter from his first marriage, Angelina, and plays an important part in taking care of her parents in Song Sung Blue.

She doesn't usually appear in films but has appeared in a TV series called Nine Perfect Strangers, where she played Tina.

Michael Imperioli as Mark Shurilla

Imperioli appears as a Buddy Holly impersonator called Mark in Song Sung Blue and supports Mike and Claire's tribute band.
