The master filmmaker is at it again. Steven Spielberg is developing something extraterrestrial. It's called Disclosure Day, a film starring Emily Blunt, Josh O'Connor, Colin Firth, Colman Domingo, and more. Although it is getting a Summer 2026 release, the trailer features a scene that literally screams, "Merry Christmas!"

While the trailer has been revealed, many roles in the movie remain undisclosed. Emily Blunt is playing a weatherwoman, and as you'll see in the trailer, her introduction is something that'll remind you of the pilot of the iconic medical drama House. Additionally, Elizabeth Marvel plays a nun, Chavo Guerrero Jr. is a referee, and more disclosed roles are listed.

David Koepp, who has collaborated with the veteran filmmaker on multiple projects, has written the film's screenplay, while Spielberg initially wrote the story. Koepp confirmed that the production on the film was officially wrapped in May 2025.

Its synopsis on YouTube reads,

"If you found out we weren’t alone, if someone showed you, proved it to you, would that frighten you? This summer, the truth belongs to seven billion people. We are coming close to … Disclosure Day."

Let us now take a look at what was in the trailer: some clicking noises, crop circles, and more of Steven Spielberg's fascination with alien life.

Disclosure Day somehow feels like it is about God

Many a time we have seen and heard conversations about how aliens might be the very thing we call God, and Disclosure Day, to some extent, feels like that subject. When the trailer begins, we hear Emily Blunt narrating in the background, saying,

"If you found out we weren't alone. If someone showed you. Proved it to you. Would that frighten you?"

And just as soon as this narration ends, it seems like she is losing the ability to speak. But look closely. It is like some mysterious force is taking over her, maybe because it is trying to tell the world something. We can assure you it's not One from Stranger Things!

While the world watches her doing this in horror, the screen turns black. What happened to her? We only know when Disclosure Day releases on June 12, 2026.

Then comes Josh O'Connor, whose role is still a mystery. But we can tell from his appearance in the Disclosure Day trailer that he knows something about whatever's happening. And that he wants the truth to come out.

Colin Firth looks like a scientist trying to experiment on himself.

Finally, as we said, Disclosure Day's trailer has a Christmas vibe. You will see it as it ends. A girl, a reindeer, and another small animal, probably a beaver, are walking towards a well-lit house.
