Swiped cast and character guide: Who plays whom in the Hulu biographical drama?

The freshly released film, Swiped, has an ensemble of talented actors in its cast, including Lily James, Myha'la, Ben Schnetzer, Jackson White, Dan Stevens, and Pierson Fodé.

Helmed by Rachel Lee Goldenberg, the film was released on Hulu. It is a biographical drama based on the journey of entrepreneur Whitney Wolfe Herd, the person behind the popular dating apps Tinder and Bumble. The existence of these apps, as we all know, has remarkably changed the face of dating history and practices.

Who is in the cast of Swiped?

1) Pierson Fodé as Michael Herd

Actor Pierson Fodé portrays the real-life character of Michael Herd, Whitney Wolfe Herd's spouse. He, too, is a business tycoon like Whitney, as he serves as the president of Herd Producing Company, a Texas-based petroleum company.

Apart from the actor's role in Swiped, Fodé is seen in films and series including Naomi and Ely's No Kiss List (2015), The Bold and the Beautiful (2015-2018), Marshmallow (2025), The Wrong Paris (2025), and many more.

2) Jackson White as Justin Mateen

Jackson White essays the role of Justin Mateen, who co-founded Tinder with Whitney and Sean Rad. Whitney and Mateen were in a relationship while setting up the company. Eventually, Mateen was accused of sexual harassment by Whitney, and she filed a lawsuit against him and the company.

Jackson White, other than this film, has worked in Mrs. Fletcher (2019), The Space Between (2021), Tell Me Lies (2022-present), Ambulance (2022), Pet Sematary: Bloodlines (2023), etc.

3) Dan Stevens as Andrey Andreev

Dan Stevens has played the part of Andrey Andreev, with whom Whitney created Bumble after she left Tinder.

Stevens is known for his work in films and series including Hilde (2009), Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb (2014), Beauty and the Beast (2016), The Man Who Invented Christmas (2017), Solar Opposites (2023-present), Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (2024) and The Ritual (2025) to name a few.

4) Ben Schnetzer as Sean Rad

Ben Schnetzer portrayed the role of Sean Rad, the person behind Tinder. However, during Whitney's time in the company, she did not receive cooperation from Rad when she was facing issues. As a result, Sean Rad was also included in the lawsuit that Whitney had filed against the company.

An alum of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, Schnetzer has also starred in Pride (2014), The Riot Club (2014), The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair (2018), The Grizzlies (2018), The Death & Life of John F. Donovan (2018), etc.

5) Myha'la as Tisha Washington

Unlike the rest of the characters in Swiped, Tisha Washington is a fictional character. Played by Myha'la, Tisha plays the role of Whitney's friend, who challenges her by holding up a mirror for her to reflect. They became friends while working at Tinder, and later, Tisha joined Bumble as well.

In a conversation with Dazed Digital, the actor talked about the inclusion of her character in Swiped, as she explained:

"Yeah, to me, Tisha feels very much like the grounding character, because she is coming from the lens of intersectionality already. She has two minority check boxes, while everyone else has none."

"And I actually think that Rachel’s decision to include a Black woman’s perspective in this was the thing that we can relate to today, because I feel like in the 2010s nobody was talking about intersectionality in those offices. They just weren’t. Or if they were, it was a quieter conversation. I think it was cool that she [Tisha] was the only character thinking about it in that way."

Apart from Myha'la's role in this film, she has starred in Modern Love (2019), Plan B (2021), Bodies Bodies Bodies (2022), Dumb Money (2023), Black Mirror (2023), etc.

6) Lily James as Whitney Wolfe Herd

And lastly, the co-founder of Tinder and the founder of Bumble, Whitney Wolfe Herd. She is portrayed by actor Lily James. Her journey, showcased in the film, gives us a deep insight into the lives of women entrepreneurs, who are on a resilient and courageous journey, fighting the systemic prejudice towards women.
